Our story
A New Life in Christ Ministries and Resources began as a ministry and grew into a social services organization. Both halves of that story still shape how the work is done today.
Pastor Diane Lakeman Hall founds the ministry
Pastor and Prophetess Diane Lakeman Hall founded A New Life in Christ Ministries in June 1984. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she traveled internationally in ministry and prayed for the sick across many countries.
Diane and Lawrence marry
Pastor Diane married Pastor Lawrence Hall in 2008. Lawrence had recently retired after 20 years teaching in Miami-Dade County Public Schools alternative education programs.
The ministry adds social services
Together, Diane and Lawrence built a community resource network. Lawrence had watched students, parents, and teachers struggle with needs that no classroom could solve — food, housing, health coverage, and the paperwork standing between a family and the programs meant for them. He had witnessed this firsthand as a teacher.
The ministry expanded into health, wellness, and social services across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

A New Life in Christ Ministries and Resources is now led by Pastor Lawrence Hall. Pastor Lawrence Hall, Founder and Executive Leader
Pastor Lawrence Hall is a community involvement specialist and a retired Miami-Dade County Public Schools teacher. He taught for 20 years in the district's alternative education programs, working with the students most likely to fall through every gap in the system.
That classroom experience is the reason this organization exists. Lawrence saw which families were going without, and he saw how often the help they needed already existed but never reached them.
A native of Miami, Lawrence is one of 11 children of Floyd and Pauline Hall. Both of his parents were educators who worked to build a positive learning environment at home and impressed on all of their children the importance of succeeding in life. Lawrence went on to help raise 11 children of his own to adulthood.
After retiring from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, he attended City College and earned a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting. He has been an advocate for students, parents, and families in South Florida ever since.

Who we serve, and how
A New Life in Christ Ministries and Resources welcomes everyone. Help is given without any requirement to attend, join, or believe anything.
- Everyone is welcome. No one is turned away because of race, ethnicity, income, disability, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, or immigration status.
- No church membership. We are faith-based, but no one is asked to attend a service to receive help.
- The whole family at once. Most agencies solve one problem for one person. We look at what the entire household needs.
- Both counties. County and city offices can only serve their own area. We work across Miami-Dade and Broward, so families near the county line do not get sent back and forth.
- We follow up. We confirm that the family actually received the help, not just that a form was filed.
